Everything you need to know about Renewals!

Who can renew?

Anyone who holds a BGU cheerleading or dance qualification. We also accept some in person Cheer qualifications from other industry providers. For more information and to see if you are eligible to renew please contact us via the website or call 0208 229 3733.

What qualification can I renew online?

  • Cheerleading Levels 1&2
  • Cheerleading Level 3
  • Levels 4/5/6

Renewals include reassessment of coaching knowledge in stunts, tumbling and basket tosses as well as a general safety test. You only have to renew your last exam level/s.

Currently our Pom & Jazz and Hip Hop courses are being taught online. The price of the online courses are less expensive than those of a renewal, so we encourage those with an existing dance qualification seeking renewals to simply register for an online course. These courses contain updated content.

When can I renew?

All BGU renewal qualifications now have and extra 3 month free of charge added making certificates valid for 3 years and 3 months.

Cheer and Dance coaches may renew their qualification within the period of validity of their existing qualification as stated on their certificate and up to 3 months after this date.  However for a short time only we are  allowing coaches to renew certificates with an expiry date from 1st July 2020 (This has been extended from the usual 3 months to 6 months)

Renewal (Cheer/Dance)

Your current 3-year qualification has expired any time from 1st July 2020.

(This has been extended from 3 months to 6 months for a limited time only)

My qualification has been expired for a while due to external circumstances (such as COVID) but I still want to renew?

We offer online interim qualifications for those with expired qualifications - interim qualifications provide the coach with a valid qualification for 6 months so they can continue their coaching within this period. However, coaches MUST complete an in-person course renewal before the end of the 6-month period in order for the qualification to be extended another three years.

After the 6-month period they cannot take an online renewal or second interim qualification and their qualification will remain expired until they have re-taken the in-person course.

Note that this is NOT a substitute for a 3-year renewal as you MUST re-take an in-person course before the end of the 6-month period.

Interim Qualification (Cheer) 3-6 Months Expired

Your current 3-year qualification has expired 3-6 MONTHS AGO.
You can complete an online interim qualification which covers you for 6 months. During this 6 month period you must complete an in-person course in order to retain your full qualification.

Interim Qualification (Cheer) 6-12 Months Expired

Your current 3-year qualification has expired 6-12 MONTHS AGO.
You can complete an online interim qualification which covers you for 6 months. During this 6 month period you must complete an in-person course in order to retain your full qualification.

After 12 months it is no longer possible to attain an interim qualification and you will need to register for a new in-person course.
